The
Atlantic Beach Marine Patrol is responsible for enforcing NC General
Statutes and town ordinances in the canals and adjacent waters of
Atlantic Beach. In addition, Marine Patrol maintains town owned
navigational aids and surveys the waterways for dangerous shoaling.
We provide assistance to the U.S. Coast Guard with search and rescue
and other law enforcement agencies with vessel assets for special
law enforcement needs. Marine Patrol can deploy side scan sonar
with which we assist the NC state ports with Homeland Security
issues. This tool is also used to search for bodies or property. The
Marine Patrol conducts safety inspections and assists boaters they
encounter while on patrol.
